Run it via a PowerShell script, perhaps called putty.ps1:

If you receive an error such as expected '#pragma omp' clause before 'omp_throttle' while compiling ImageMagick, you are probably running ccache. The workaround is to change ccache's preprocessing behaviour slightly with the command export CCACHE_CPP2=1 before beginning to compile.

If you are extremely sure that the predicted dependency failure will not be a problem, use AutoReq: no in your .spec file.

It is recommended that the libzip-devel libxml2-devel libsigc* gtkmm-devel gtkmm2-devel sqlite3-devel boost-devel libmysqlclient-devel lua-devel gtkglext-devel pcre-devel autoconf aclocal automake libtool python-devel ImageMagick-devel python-gtk-devel python-cython packages be installed for a successful compilation. Some of these might be unnecessary but I haven't spent time on figuring out which ones. Also, you can always remove the -devel packages later.

In case you receive an error such as mount error(22): Invalid argument consider using the sec=ntlmssp,nounix,noserverino mount options.

The reason is that Samba has been replaced with SMBX in this release with the security tightened. You may also find that the ntlmssp scheme is only available in fairly recent, and not enterprise, versions of Linux.

Update: Red Hat 6.2's Release Notes state that, "Support for NTLMSSP authentication has been added to CIFS. In addition, CIFS now uses the kernel's crypto API."
